7 Self-Sufficient... in Christ

The Stoic philosophers placed a high value in contentment (Greek autarkes), which to them meant to be a totally self-sufficient person. The apostle Paul takes that word and turns it into an altogether different idea - to be totally independent from one's external circumstances. He said he had learned the secret of living well whether in great need or in abundance. What secret was that? He had learned Christ-sufficiency! We can learn it too. This sermon will offer three practices and one warning to help us become content in Christ.
